Stockbridge racer Mike Gregory was competing on the famous Grand Prix circuit at Brands Hatch in the Historic Formula Junior Championship in his De Tomasa Isis, built in 1959.
A wet qualifying session with standing water saw Gregory post his fastest time of 2:33.381 which was an average speed of 57.10 mph for the circuit measuring 2.43 miles in length and this was good enough for 18th place out of the 29.
By the time the 20 minute race started later in the day the track was dry and the sun shining.
A good clean race with plenty of overtaking saw Gregory finish 16th after 11 laps with an average speed of 71.88 mph such were the different track conditions.
