Andover based power lifter Philip Nosko recently competed at the British Drug Free Powerlifting Championships in Stafford, in the 90kg weight category.

Phil didn’t lift as much as his training had suggested he would as the first lift was the squat of 220kgs followed by a decent bench press, registering 150kgs.

His deadlift, which he described as “Extremely poor, as I was hoping to increase my British record of 295kgs” suggested a bad day, as he could only pass his opening lift of 275kgs but despite that Phil’s total of 645kgs put him in third place behind Simon Robb and Reace Meekin which would have qualified him for the World Championships, although he is unable to attend this year.

Phil thanked his supporters and sponsors PJ Cleaning, who funded the trip.
