ANDOVER Men’s First recovered from last week’s derby defeat to Romsey with a convincing 8-4 win over City of Portsmouth.

Max Romer-Lee opened the scoring for the home side before Portsmouth pulled one back through an own goal.

The visitors then took the lead before Jamie Hacker equalised for Andover to level the score at 2-2 at half time.

Andover dominated possession in the second half and after Portsmouth lost players to cards, the home side took full advantage with goals from Dan Allen, Sam Goacher and another from Hacker.

Max Romer-Lee also added further goals before Portsmouth mounted a small come back to bring the game back to 7-4.

However Andover sealed the win with a late goal to bring the final score up to 8-4.
