ANDOVER Hockey Club Ladies secured a much needed point in a scoreless draw at home to Guildford Ladies.

The Ladies have struggled for consistent form this season and were in desperate need of points following a six game losing streak.

Andover started well despite facing tough opponents, who proved a challenge for the defensive pairing of Liz Hacker and Sarah Wiseman.

The visitors gained several penalty corners, but Andover defended them effectively.

Andover returned fire and had several chances of their own, with the best falling to Rhea Li.

The home side dominated the second half however they could not capitalise on their chances as the game ended scoreless.

The 9th placed Ladies will face league leaders East Grinstead in their final game of the season on Saturday.

ANDOVER Ladies Seconds ended their recent point drought with a hard fought draw against 4th placed Isle of Wight.

The Seconds were in need of points after previously losing their last three games.

But again Andover made work difficult for themselves by conceding from an early short corner.

The Seconds went 2-0 down when a penalty flick, given after Emily Lord has blocked the ball on the line with her body, was dispatched.

Andover were given their own penalty flick moments later but Jacqui West missed with her shot.

The Seconds pulled one back before half-time when Sammy Meredith deflected in Sally Prior’s pass.

Andover pressed on after the break and got an equaliser when Louise Cuff rifled an unstoppable Action from Andover Ladies Hockey Team’s 0 - 0 draw with Guildford shot into the goal to earn a point.
