Andover Emerging faced a pool of tough A-sides in the Newbury Festival and stood up really well and gained some invaluable festival experience, many of whom were first-timers to the competitive game.
Both Freddie Riley and Rhys Griffiths made many piercing runs setting Matt Marquiss and Archie Anderson up for some great tries. The only two girls in the tournament, Brooke Wilding and Sian Watson, played with real guts and passion against some big opponents.
Lewis Williams added some real pace and Lucas Waugh scored a fantastic try from deep for the AVK sponsored side.
Andover A travelled to the Havant Festival, where they played Havant, Tadley and Petersfield.
They won all three matches scoring 18 tries and only conceding three to move into the main cup competition where they played New Milton and Petersfield A.
The New Milton game finished 2-2 and the second match was against Petersfield A which Andover won 4-3.
This meant that by virtue of most tries scored Andover won the cup competition.
A great way for the U9s to finish the season.
