ANDOVER Ladies won the fourth competition of the Hampshire O2 Touch Rugby Series.
The Ladies went into the competition, held in Aldershot earlier this month, ranked in second and with only seven available players.
However Andover dug deep and put in a brilliant performance to record four wins and a draw and win the competition.
The day started against arch rivals and current league leaders Fordingbridge.
A tense and fast paced game saw Andover draw 2-2 with Andover’s tries coming from captain Susan Mitchell and young and upcoming Emily Francis-Pollin.
Next was Basingstoke which saw Andover dominate 5-1, this was followed by a hard fought 3-1 game against the hosts Aldershot and Fleet.
Both games were fast paced with tries from Lisa Wood, Emily, Tara Bradbury and a spectacular interception from Katie Dean.
Andover then recorded a 3-1 win over newcomers Winchester University before beating Farnborough 2-1 thanks to a moment of brilliance from Susan Mitchell.
The win means the Ladies have won two competitions are joint top with Fordingbridge with two tournaments left to play.
