A man aged 25 was stabbed near his home in South Shields and later died
A man has died after being stabbed in a street near his home.
Police found the man, 25, on the corner of Stanhope Road and Boldon Lane in South Shields, Tyneside, on Friday morning.
Detectives say he was confronted by two men who stabbed him before running away.
He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries, a Northumbria Police spokesman said. A murder investigation is now under way.
