Two people have been killed a third person sustained serious injuries following a car crash, police have said.

Officers were called at 10.05am on Christmas Day after a member of the public reported that a car had been involved in a collision on the B3349 Odiham Road near Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Two people in the car were pronounced dead while a man who was believed to be the driver of the vehicle, received medical attention at the scene before being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Next-of-kin have been informed.

There were road closures on the B3011 and the B3349 while a police investigation took place at the scene.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary's road death investigation team at Eastleigh Police Station by phoning 101, or the Crimestoppers charity, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
