Two women injured in a car crash which killed three people on the M6 motorway on Christmas Day are to be discharged from hospital.
A spokesman for the University Hospital of North Staffordshire said: "The patients will be leaving hospital later today."
The crash, which happened between junction 14 and junction 15 near Stoke-on-Trent at about 11.30am on Christmas Day, closed both carriages for several hours while emergency services were on the scene.
Two brothers aged four and 10 and a woman passenger died when their car overturned near junction 15 for Stoke-on-Trent at about 11.25am on Tuesday.
The woman, 32, is believed to have been travelling from the Thames Valley area.
Another female passenger was injured and taken to hospital, along with the woman believed to be the boys' mother, for further assessment and treatment.
The crash closed both carriages for several hours while emergency services, including two air ambulances, were at the scene. Police said the crash involved a red Ford Focus.
Chief superintendent Martin Evans said emergency service staff had worked through the "sad" and "exceptionally difficult circumstances" at the roadside.
"Unfortunately the outcome is extremely tragic and our thoughts are with the family of those who have died," he said.
Police have made a public appeal for witnesses to try to piece together what happened.
