A Tyneside man who allegedly posted a message on Facebook threatening to kill 200 people in America has been refused bail for the second time
A man accused of threatening on Facebook to kill 200 people in America has been refused bail for the second time.
Reece Elliott, 24, from South Shields, Tyneside, allegedly made the remarks on a tribute page that had been set up for Tennessee student Caitlin Talley, who died in October.
South Tyneside Magistrates' Court heard that this resulted in 3,000 children staying away from school in Warren County as well as security being tightened.
He is also charged with making malicious communications, which he is accused of doing anonymously on the social networking site on February 4.
Charlton Carr, defending Elliott, applied for bail but it was refused by chairman of the bench Dorothy Gibson after first being refused on February 9.
The next hearing is expected to take place on March 13.
