Poll reveals support for Ukip MP

Andover Advertiser: Ukip leader Nigel Farage's party could enjoy more support at next year's general election, a new poll suggests Ukip leader Nigel Farage's party could enjoy more support at next year's general election, a new poll suggests

Almost three quarters of those who voted Ukip in last week's European election would be prepared to support an MP from Nigel Farage's party, an opinion poll has found.

The study indicates that the swing to Ukip in the European ballot may be more than just the result of protest votes which will be reversed in next year's general election.

The ComRes poll for ITV News found 72% of those who voted Ukip this year could see themselves voting for the party at a general election.

Some 14% of Ukip voters said they could not see themselves voting for an MP from the party, with 14% undecided.

Overall, the survey found 27% of Britons could see themselves voting for Ukip at a general election, with 55% saying they could not envisage casting a vote for an MP from Mr Farage's party.

Among those who voted Conservative in 2010, a third (33%) said they could see themselves voting Ukip at a general election, compared with 25% of 2010 Lib Dem voters and 18% of 2010 Labour voters.

More than one in 10 (11%) of those who voted Tory in last week's European election could see themselves voting for Ukip at a general election, compared with 7% for Labour and 3% for the Lib Dems.

:: ComRes interviewed 2,060 British adults between May 23 and 26. Data were weighted to be representative of all British adults.

When voters' information about issues is constantly fed to them via misreporting by a British press which is largely dominated by reactionary tabloids with an ulterior agenda then this might go a long way to explaining the reason why so many have voted for this extremist party and its irrational representatives. Decades of wholesale brainwashing may well have had such an effect.

The general public have seen through the LIBLABCON and the establishment are ready to hit back. Its about time the establishment listened or it will pay a heavy price. There is no stopping UKIP at the moment .

I look forward to Farage mauling the wrong brother Miliband in the TV debates in spring 2015 !

27% ? it's higher than that, everyone I know is planning to vote Ukip. If we do all stick together we can rid this country of the cruel, inhumane Tories and put an end to their draconian policies. Tories have sorted the economy out but at the expense of the poor and disabled people. Disabled families are going without food because of the way the DWP is run. This is 2014 not 1700 GET THEM OUT !

I believe the press are trying to stop British people voting Ukip. You only need to see the image on this article of Mr Farage holding up a pint glass. They try to make him look incompetent. Get the Tories out while we have the chance. Ordinary people are staving they don't report that.
