Four charged with teenager murder
Two more youths have been charged with murdering a teenager who was stabbed to death in a street fight.
A 15-year-old from Lewisham in south east London and a 17-year-old from the Sydenham area are accused of murdering 18-year-old James Hunter and wounding a 17-year-old boy with intent.
Earlier today, a 16-year-old from South Norwood and another 16-year-old from the Catford area were also charged with Mr Hunter's murder and remanded in custody.
Officers were called to reports of a fight in progress between youths in Wells Park Road in Sydenham, south-east London, at about 8.30pm last Saturday.
Emergency services attended but Mr Hunter was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination carried out at Greenwich Mortuary gave the cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest.
Detective Chief Inspector Russell Taylor said: "A number of youths gathered in Wells Park Road before a fight broke out.
"Many people would have witnessed the attack as well as the aftermath.
"I would urge those people to contact officers so that we can piece together the events that led up to this murder."
The second victim, aged 17, was also stabbed and taken to a south London hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, a 17-year-old boy was the first to be charged with Mr Hunter's murder.
He and the two youths who were charged earlier today will appear at the Old Bailey on June 10.
The two teenage boys charged this evening will appear in custody at Bromley Youth Court on June 9.
Four more boys have been arrested in relation to the attack.
A 15-year-old and a 17-year-old were released and will face no further action.
A 13-year-old and a 15-year-old have been bailed to a date in late June pending further investigations.
Witnesses are asked to contact police on 020 8721 4868 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
