England batsman Jonathan Trott is set to step away from competitive cricket for a second time in five months due to a stress-related illness, it was reported on Thursday evening.
The 32-year-old left the Ashes tour in November after England's first defeat of their Test whitewash by Australia.
He has recently returned to action with Warwickshire, and played in the LV= County Championship match against Sussex this week.
However, the Daily Mail and Cricinfo reported Trott will take another break from his career to deal with his personal situation.
Trott has played 49 Tests and 68 one-day internationals for England, becoming an integral part of the team's batting line-up in the pivotal number three position.
The Daily Mail reported that a statement regarding Trott's future was expected on Friday.
Trott is contracted to the England and Wales Cricket Board, which was unavailable for comment on Thursday evening.
