Danny Welbeck will not miss England's World Cup opener against Italy though injury, according to team-mate Wayne Rooney.
Reports emerged overnight that the Manchester United forward limped out of training on Tuesday with a leg injury, with concerns exacerbated when Welbeck also missed the Three Lions' training session on Wednesday.
The Football Association's refusal to comment on the severity of the injury set off alarms bells, but Rooney has moved to allay those fears ahead of Saturday's Group D clash with Italy in Manaus.
"Danny will be fine," he said. "I am sure he will be ready for Saturday.
"He's just not risked anything in training today, so he'll train on Friday and he'll be available for Saturday I'm sure."
