Hunt for photos of iconic car
3:28pm Friday 30th August 2013 in Your Say
DESPITE all the bad press that accompanied the collapse of the DeLorean sports car company of Belfast in the early 80s, there was a strong connection with Andover, during the time when the car, which later became so famous through the Back to the Future film trilogy, was being developed and manufactured.
The former Wooler Hodec company, based in Andover, was involved in converting cars to right hand drive format – a role that hit the redtops’ headlines at the time for all the wrong reasons.
I am assisting the DeLorean Owners Club to produce a high quality, glossy coffee table book, based on a collection of almost 2,000 photographs, from all around the world, of the car and the people and events that made it happen.
I wonder if any of your readers have photographs or anecdotes to add to these of their time working on this iconic car?
