LAST week’s Advertiser carried a letter from Veronika Pond about Andover War Memorial Hospital and the sterling services it provides. It is regrettable that the photograph you selected to accompany this letter was many years out of date.
I am writing to remind you that the hospital was built by the people of Andover as their memorial to the local men who died in the First World War.
After seven years of dedicated effort, they built for their community a modern 24-bed hospital which was one of the finest small hospitals in the country at the time.
The people of Andover remain committed to their hospital, both as a war memorial and for the services it provides. One hopes that the Advertiser shares their respect and commitment, and that the choice of illustration last week was just an unfortunate error.
