A REQUEST was made recently by the Andover Advertiser to nominate a hero.
Unfortunately my heroes were a team and I was told because of this they would not be accepted for the Pride of Andover Award.
I felt this unjust as the group were tender, caring and lovingly supportive towards my husband and my family during and even after the last 19 weeks of his life.
These people have been and will be again, angels to a lot of others in the special time that they have left on this earth.
You may ask who they are.
Why of course it’s a Macmillan nurse and a team of nurses from the Countess of Brecknock Hospice.
Whilst they may not qualify for the Pride of Andover criteria as a team, how do you separate the individual from such a force?
I’m sure that anyone who is close to someone with a terminal illness would agree that the strength and support they provide is beyond compare.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Julie Mundy and family, New Street, Andover
