The Junction we run a social club for young people and adults with learning disabilities called Steps.

This is held every Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

We decided to take everyone on an urban orienteering expedition into Andover town centre and wanted to meet up somewhere to eat.

Myself and a colleague went into Wimpy the day before to ask if we could bring our own cake as we were sadly saying goodbye to one of the group, who is leaving for pastures new.

The Wimpy staff informed me that they closed at 7pm, which meant we wouldn’t be able to eat there — unfortunately my fault for not being more organised!

The staff immediately asked what time we would like them to stay open and said they would accommodate whatever we needed.

On Thursday, 19 June we completed our treasure hunt through the town centre then went into Wimpy and ordered 16 meals.

The staff at Wimpy that evening were amazing, they gave us time to sort out each meal and drink and were friendly and attentive to us. Even though they weren’t supposed to be open they didn’t rush us at all.

Everyone at Steps wanted to take the opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ and let everyone know how much we appreciated them making the evening such a success.

Thank you Wimpy.
