WHEN I was apprenticed into the electricity supply industry in the 1960s, nuclear was all the rage and coal was king.

Now no one wants nuclear or coal power stations.

Gas or oil is expensive and a waste of a valuable resource, not to mention the CO2 emissions.

No one wants an onshore wind farm nearby and offshore wind farms will kill tourism. No one wants solar farms and the thought of fracking is vehemently opposed.

I assume that we all want to be able to turn a light on and travel from A to B by some form of transport? So therefore, can someone tell me, how?
