ON returning Sunday from the busy streets of London it was nice to see the new ‘Welcome to Andover’, signs especially the ones near the Guildhall.
It was interesting to note that on a recent trip to Andover, my partner who is London-based and a Polish national, commented when we went for a walk that the Cenotaph seemed to be located in the wrong part of town.
I loaned her my copy of local author Mr Russell K.C Tarrant’s book Mrs Pickett’s Cenotaph so she could read more of the real facts about its present location.
Stephen Stoodley, Vigo Road, Andover.
