AS the Scottish referendum draws closer it is a pity that a number of individuals, mainly on the ‘Yes’ campaign, have started to abuse and even intimidate those who strongly disagree with them on this issue, and indeed such conduct may even be counterproductive to their cause.
Nationalist leaders including Alex Salmond have been slow to condemn the actions of a small but vociferous group of supporters.
The nationalists do not like to let on that there are divisions in their own ranks between those who wish to keep the pound and those who do not. Scotland has its own Parliament and rightly so. Let us keep it at that.
It would be interesting to hear what other readers, Scots or non-Scots, think about this important issue.
Secondly, is it not time for Cllr Ian Carr to consider stepping down as leader of Test Valley Borough Council after so many years in office?
It will be interesting to see how his vote in Charlton compares with those of other Conservative candidates!
