SO LET me get this straight. There’s no need for tax discs because roadside cameras will identify number plates now and the DVLA will confirm whether or not the plate is taxed, insured and, if required, MoT certificated.
Now, if I was a member of the criminal fraternity (no, don’t laugh), I could have a front and back number plate made up, matching, just for example, a councillor’s number plates. I would then place them on my vehicle and the DVLA would confirm that all financial dues were fully paid.
In effect, overpaid Councillor Carr would be paying my car tax, insurance and MoT!
I really like the sound of that!
