CHRIS Marfell recently attended Kimpton Primary School to talk to the children about his experiences tumbling at the Salto Centre and his aspirations to represent his country at the World Age Games in Florida this November.
Chris had prepared a PowerPoint presentation for the children who were in awe of his tumbling ability.
Chris is a student at Bishop Wordsworth School in Salisbury.
As part of Hampshire County Council’s Olympic Legacy programme, members of the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme are visiting schools across the county delivering presentations around the themes of aspiration and resilience.
Many of the athletes in the scheme aspire to be Olympic, Paralympic or World Champions, but have faced challenges on the way.
By talking about their experiences it is hoped that school children will have their own aspirations and learn to overcome setbacks.
Chris has been chosen to represent his country in Florida and we wish him the very best of luck. He was an inspiration to the pupils and an excellent role model for them.
