IN its infinite wisdom Hampshire County Council has decreed that charging for DIY waste at its tips will decrease the amount of fly-tipping, endorsed by the councillor who is foisting the unwanted Weyhill Road cycle track on us.
This confirms my belief that once elected politicians are obliged to have the part of the brain removed that governs common sense.
This charge will serve only to increase fly tipping.
On my dog walks in the countryside I have on numerous occasions reported incidents of flytipping.
I wonder what the cost of clearing this is?
If Hampshire County Council wants to save costs it should cut drastically the number of councillors to keep services running. After all, an unruly plant is always pruned from its top!
