AT Persimmon Homes’ recent exhibition at Picket Twenty (Friday, November 7) they revealed plans to local residents that show they want to build an extra 512 homes.
This is 200 more than the previous number advertised by them for this site in 2012.
I would welcome your readers’ views on this as the area is close to the important Harewood Forest and the residents living in the Middle Way.
Northern Test Valley have more than a five-year land supply for homes with planning permission so is this scheme a step too far when there are concerns over a loss of agricultural land, water supply and highways?
Do you think we need these extra homes in this location?
Please let me know.
I would like to express my real disappointment in Persimmon Homes that they had nobody available on the day to answer the questions from residents living in the 600 homes already completed.
I feel that the developers are slow and neglectful of the needs of the residents living here in finishing important parts of this new estate. Some of the earlier phases – after two-and-a-half years – still have no street lights working, pavements not finished or proper road surfaces. There are also delays in installing the first play park!
Persimmon, please get these issues sorted out before rushing to start the next phase and keep residents fully informed on what’s happening.
I would welcome your thoughts on this by emailing long.nigelj@gmail.com.
