MAY I, through your letters page, thank all those who attended the recent Royal Air Force in Concert performance at The Anvil in Basingstoke, which celebrated the 50th display season of the worldrenowned Royal Air Force aerobatic display team, the Red Arrows.

The evening was a great success and helped support the important work of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.

I would also like to thank Air Cadets from 443 (Basingstoke) Squadron, whose valuable participation on the night reflected both the spirit and dedication of the Air Cadet Organisation.

The RAF Charitable Trust is the youngest of the RAF’s family of charities, having been set up in 2005.

Its mission is to promote the Royal Air Force, to support its people now and into the future and to encourage air-mindedness and the aviation-related education of youth.

This gives us very wide scope to do great work to help former and serving members of the RAF as well as aviation-orientated youth organisations.

We very much look forward to returning to Basingstoke in 2015 with a special concert commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Air Marshal Sir Kevin Leeson KCB CBE FREng CEng FIET Chairman, Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.
