I WAS driving home from work a couple of weeks ago, coming into Andover at just after 5.30pm along the very dark stretch of road from the garden centre roundabout to Salisbury Road.
I suddenly realised there was a person on a bicycle in front of me without any lights or reflective clothing whatsoever. I was shocked that anyone could be so stupid and actually quite shaken up at the thought that I could so easily not have seen him and run him over.
Last Thursday, at just after 5.30pm along the same stretch of road, I saw him again. This time, instead of being shocked, I was angry at his stupidity.
I suppose that if he doesn’t have respect for his own life, he doesn’t really care that someone else might have to live with the fact that they have accidentally killed someone.
A piece of advice to this incredibly stupid person, get some lights on your bike because you may not be so lucky next time.
