REGARDING “Asda slashes petrol prices – but Andover set to miss out” (andoveradvertiser.co.uk).
I wonder why Asda never opened a petrol station in Andover? There seems loads of suitable space on the nearby trading estate.
This will always be an expensive town because the population are classed by Test Valley Borough Council as ‘poor’ and non-mobile.
Those that live here tend to work here so shops charge more than they do elsewhere. Fortunately I work in Newbury so have access to cheap fuel, which is a relief as I do 500/600 miles a week.
