IT IS 70 years ago since Auschwitz was liberated, the narrative film Shoah is to be seen on the television; the end of World War II is to be celebrated during April and May, and still vigilance on the build up of racism in our society is a job to pay attention to.

To see our hard-working townspeople on display with the UKIP parliamentary candidate, over the issue of advertising boards, appears to personify the way good hard-working people can be hijacked as an advertising tool for UKIP.

The issue of display boards can surely be solved through local councillors’ discussion together with representative groups from young mums with pushchairs, Andover groups representing the elderly and disabled.

All of whom may have some excellent ideas as to how to maintain vital advertising boards to help ensure Andover people’s attention is caught to enable a sale to be made in a way that does not threaten safety.
