I’VE become a frequent Chantry Centre shopper over the past year and have two recommendations (as a novelty, these do not contain the usual ‘Andover Advertiser reader’ criticisms, as legitimate as they may be) regarding empty units or the need for more up-market shops or Primark:
1) There are no clocks within the Chantry Centre or its exterior which seems rather odd given that the bus centre and multi-storey are at one end of the centre. A clock on the Town Mill’s exterior entrance and one in the very centre would be worthwhile.
2) A post box near the bus station/Waitrose would also be welcome given the footfall and that the nearest postboxes on leaving the Chantry Centre are by the Church and Guildhall exits.
In the absence of demolishing the centre and rethinking/ building a more fit-forpurpose town centre, small changes like these can make the experience better.
