I LIKE many other people have hit a pothole, cursed and done nothing about it.
However, in March this year I hit a pothole and caused £200 of damage to my suspension.
On attempting to claim against the council I received their “Section 58” defence which states that if they have no knowledge of the pothole they cannot be held liable.
So I urge all drivers in Andover to report the potholes they hit (it is a simple online procedure) because if nobody does it could be YOU with the £200 bill next time.
If there are no spray paint markings around the pothole then it is unlikely it has been reported.
