REGARDING the letter from Debra Ramchurn (‘Andover Mind’ of September 4) it was kind of Miss Ramchurn to describe the facilities Andover Mind has.

However, I wonder perhaps if Miss Ramchurn has missed the point of my letter.

I am looking for a small centre where people could ‘drop in’.

I believe what is needed in Andover is a drop-in centre for people with mental health issues to socialise.

Such a centre would be open a good part of each day.

I understand that in other parts of the country such drop-in centres are indeed offered by the local Mind organisation.

Obviously here in Andover, if our Mind cannot provide this help, we shall have to look elsewhere for this type of facility.

Finally, can I suggest to Miss Ramchurn that a dropin centre is different to a well-being centre.
