IN our phenomenally popular series... the Andover Advertiser is publishing a “thank you” column featuring messages sent in by readers.
Whether you would like to show gratitude to a loved one or a complete stranger, this is the place to do it. Send messages to mike.sims@ andoveradvertiser.co.uk.
ON THE afternoon of Tuesday, December 22 I was in Waitrose and the cashier was totalling my purchases when a young lady approached me and said she wished me a Happy Christmas and would like me to accept a bouquet of roses and lilies which she placed in my trolley.
Not recognising her I said, “But you don’t know me,” to which she replies, “That doesn’t matter”, and then vanished leaving me considerably surprised to pay for my purchases.
May I say how much I appreciate such a kind gesture from a young lady whom I don’t know. The flowers are beautiful and will brighten my Christmas which I am spending alone.
Such kindness from a total stranger is to be commended. May the lady have a Happy New Year.
Miss CE Morrell, Lynwood Drive, Andover.
