It is the whole habitat that they are destroying by raising it to the ground.

They are taking away shelter for small mammals and insects as well as their food sources.

We as a nation should be concerned at the loss of so much wildlife just for expediency on the part of companies like the SSE.

Yes, the lines have to be kept clear but why is it necessary to cut down vegetation that is never going to reach the power lines?
