IN our phenomenally popular series... the Andover Advertiser is publishing a “thank you” column featuring messages sent in by readers.

Whether you would like to show gratitude to a loved one or a complete stranger, this is the place to do it. Send messages to mike.sims@ andoveradvertiser.co.uk.

OVER the last few days I have been out and about, sharing “mini bins” and handing out posters to display in homes and shop windows. Then it occurred to me the one thing none of us do is actually thank those people that do behave responsibly.

No one thanks the smokers that gather round a bin, outside their places of employment, enjoying their relaxation with a cigarette and then stubbing them out into the bins provided. No one thanks those shoppers that walk through the town eating and drinking who then pop their containers into bins. No one thanks the youths, the kids, the teenagers, and the business people, who do walk along and actually without thinking pop their bits and pieces in the bins. So, could I say thank you to all of you.
