MIGHT I have a little space to make an important announcement in our Andover Advertiser please?

It was quite a shock for Leslie Evans when she found out that she had been given an award.

Apparently she has been attending a memory café she has been visiting since 2014.

Leslie just walked in and asked if they wanted someone to make the tea and of course they accepted.

For those interested these cafes are set up in Ludgershall and Tidworth and provide an opportunity for those affected by memory problems.

It’s a nice outlet for families and friends to spend time listening to life experiences and asking questions in a supportive social setting.

These cafes can only function with the help of volunteers who go in and prepare the hall, host folk that go to these wonderful places and also give support to their carers.

Leslie is more than just a volunteer, she is a friend and always wears a smile.

Leslie is an angel and does so much in the local community taking folk to hospital and other things.

She is always busy as she has an allotment and is busy helping her husband refurbish their bungalow.

This award is well deserved and I would like to say thank you to Leslie for just being there to help.

God bless all of those at Castledown radio station for announcing this to the media.

Thank you to the Andover Advertiser for keeping villages informed of local events and news.

God bless you all.
