THROUGH your letters column we would like to say thank you to everyone from Andover and the local area who supported the Appleshaw Fete on August Bank Holiday Monday.
Because of that support the Fete Committee have been able to donate generously to local causes. The sum of £4,500 has been shared between Appleshaw St Peter’s School for their new sensory garden, Appleshaw St Peterin-the-Wood church for the building and flowers, the local WI, Appleshaw Cricket Club, Appleshaw Village Hall for refurbishment and equipment, and a contribution towards a new mowing machine for the Parish and playing field.
Additionally, £500 has been donated to the International Glaucoma Association, the charity of Muddy Runners the group that helped organise the first ever Appleshaw Fete Fun Run, held in association with the Fete.
The Appleshaw Fete with the Flower Show will be back again in 2017.
