WELL what a busy year the Whitchurch Branch has had.

We sadly lost our President – Roy Dykes back in April and following the tradition at the recent AGM, the Branch elected Ken Clerk to take over the role of President and David Old was elected as Chairman.

During the course of the year we have held a number of events ie lunches, a charity dinner and a branch dinner night, plus attending local activities.

We are delighted that our membership is slowing growing and anyone who is interested in joining us would be most welcomed.

The closing of the year comes with the annual Poppy Appeal, and this year the support from the residents of the Diocese of Whitchurch has once again exceeded all expectations.

We have raised £6,367.87 and achieved this with the support from our local Businesses, House to House Collectors and the Army Cadet Force, and of course, all of you who donated.

During the year the Branch also did some fund-raising and the Poppy Appeal grand sum is £7,917.87.

On behalf of the RBL Poppy Appeal, my sincere thanks to you all.

Rosemary Crumplin, Poppy Appeal organiser
