WHILST reading your ‘Back Through The Pages’ (Andover Advertiser, February 3), I came across an incredible euphemism.
In a description of a long fox hunt in 1892, a ‘gallant’ fox was described as ‘yielding up his brush’.
As a boy, and being on a bike ride in the wrong place at the wrong time (not in 1892!), I saw the kill at a hunt and I can assure readers who may be unaware, that the horrific reality is a million miles from the sanitised description above.
