I ONLY ever contact you when I feel sufficiently aggrieved, and I always endeavour to do so when it is relevant to local issues.

However, I am afraid this letter is not about any local issues but yet again the EU and its waste of our money!

We have all known for a long time now through TV coverage about the tragic and appalling food shortages, famine, malnutrition and starvation in Somalia, Ethiopia, and South Sudan. Something surely the EU would wish to do more about. I am not sure what they are doing but if the EU had not just spent £300 million on their new Space Egg HQ – the “Europa”

in Brussels, that surely would have gone a long way in assisting these people.

And let’s not forget the upcoming “birthday party”

planned and paid for by the EU (sorry us) to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome! I challenge any sane “Remoaners/Remaniacs”

to justify that sort of spending while witnessing such human tragedy in Africa. On a not unrelated issue, if the EU also vacated their luxurious HQs in Luxembourg, Brussels and Strasbourg, that would also go some way to solving the European homeless problem!

The sooner we are out of that expensive, irrelevant, unnecessary and bureaucratic institution the better! Bring on the triggering of Article 50.
