MR Turner (Advertiser, March 17) may be incensed at the EU spending £300 million on a new HQ (ie 60p per EU citizen) but this needs to be put in context.
The UK government is planning to spend £7.1 billion on upgrading our parliament building. That is £120 per UK citizen, so maybe the new Brussels building is not such bad value.
However, Mr Turner is right in that we need to bring on Article 50 as soon as possible.
Then we can all enjoy the extra £350 million per week that the Leave campaign promised us for the NHS.
This extra money into our economy will also help offset the price rises that we are all now experiencing because of the post-Brexit slump in the value of the pound and may help compensate for the future loss of all those foreign workers on which our health and care services, and much of industry and agriculture, depend.
There may even be some cash left over to help train pigs to fly.
