WE like The Lights.

It’s a big plus to the Andover scene.

One of our favourite Lights evenings that we attended, a while ago now, was a Georgie Fame session. What a great blues voice that man has. We also enjoyed our chat with him after the show. Can he be rebooked please?

Your recent correspondence brings to mind another excellent show that we saw. It was well attended but after a short while we did not know what to watch, the antics on stage or the audible spat going on a few rows in front of us.

After a few minutes the female of the warring pair, had had enough and stood up, head in the air with visible steam coming out of her ears, and left. This meant the lonesome fellow had to resort to his gadget. This he did, never mind the show, and was oblivious to all those around him, especially those behind, as in the semi darkness the torch light that was emitted was in everyone’s eyes.

When asked, politely, to switch it off by one of the helpful Lights assistants and the reason why, he sat there for a while contemplating the fact that someone had actually told him off and to put his play thing away.

After considering his position and possibly sensing everyone’s eyes were upon him, to see what he would do, he too stood up and hurriedly made his exit much to everyone’s satisfaction.

We feel that all the volunteers at The Lights do a really good job but it would be of benefit to them and a good idea if everyone was made aware that mobiles, iPads, etc are not to be used during the show thus interfering with other people’s enjoyment.
