IT was recently incorrectly reported that MEPs had voted to ban Glyphosate, following the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) report that it is possibly carcinogenic.

MEPs are our elected representatives in the EU, whose job is to protect the electorate’s interests.

The EU commissioners recently once again refused to ban Glyphosate, in spite of the WHO report (Trump wants WHO to review its collected research on carcinogens).

They have ignored all previous research into its other harms, such as birth defects from amounts to be found in food residues, by a highly selective evidence choice. The Commissioners are appointed by national governments to look after their governments’ interests.

Where did the idea come from that if we the leave the EU we will never get rid of Glyphosate, and the influence of Monsanto?

If the incorrect report had been accurate, it would have been an interesting situation.

Our representatives (elected, but no power) vs the governments’ appointees (unelected, but with the power). Cause for thought?
