WHILST hard work needs to be rewarded, the excessive awards paid to university vice-chancellors need exposure.
According to The Observer some have claimed for Easter eggs and huge amounts on taxis.
Dining expenses came to almost £400,000 over a two year period.
The vice-chancellors seem to be suffering from a duckhouse moment, a reference to the £1,600 duckhouse which Tory MP Sir Peter Viggars tried to claim for at the height of the MPs expenses scandal in 2009.
These expenses need to be curbed. They will also give grist to the mill for Momentum and those even further to the left.
Secondly Vince Cable is right to ask that company chief executives be called to the House of Commons to justify their huge bonuses.
It would be interesting to know what our own MP, Kit Malthouse thinks about them.
