YOUR front page headline (27 April, ‘Aid Homeless Veteran Plea’) pulled at my heart strings.
I read on only to discover he was a 57-year-old man who left the army when he was 26 years years old (over 31 years ago) having served not in the Falklands war, Bosnia, Afghanistan or any of the other hell holes on this earth, but Cyprus, Germany and the UK, considered by most to be very cushy postings.
I’m sure his need is great, but to engender sympathy with a headline like this is disingenuous.
