I WROTE to Cllr Hawke, TVBC’s Housing, Health and Communities Portfolio Holder in 2014 and in 2015 asking what action was being taken to bring the derelict 91 Charlton Road back into use (Advertiser, 20 April, ‘Concerns over derelict house’).
My letter of 29 January 2015 specifically asked to know what costs TVBC had incurred over time in inspecting and securing this property and whether those costs had been recovered from the owner. That information was never forthcoming.
Now, when local government is struggling to fund essential services, it is time for the public to know how much this property has cost TVBC council taxpayers?
