SEVERAL of my friends and, no doubt, many readers of this page, will have noticed two glaring omissions from my list of Andover cafes of days gone by which were both a short walk from where I live now.
The Linga Longa in the parade of shops on Weyhill Road and, further along at the Hundred Acre roundabout was Gills transport cafe, home of the all-day breakfast.
On a different note from the same era, I wonder why when we joined the Common Market, as it was then, that the shenanigans weren’t called ‘Brenter’?
Allan Pothecary, Eardley Avenue, Andover.
