AS WE approach the deadline for exiting the EU the doom and gloom merchants are out in force desperately trying to get 17.4 million people to change their minds.

Within days it is now suggested that food and medicine will be in short supply. This would follow on to ‘an immediate and profound economic shock’ that would drive the UK into a major recession, the cost of borrowing would go through the roof, 500,000 higher unemployment (G Osborne, Chancellor), the breakup of the UK (Blair and Major), ‘plague and pestilence’ will fall upon the UK, and the most frightening of all, the possibility of WW3 (D Cameron, PM). All this predicted by the ‘Project Fear’ team of Remainers.

To remind people, we had a vote. We voted to regain Sovereignty (parliament to make our laws, no longer to be beholden to the ECJ) and to regain control of our Borders (we decide who does or does not come in) Stop the billions we send to the ‘EU club’ run by unelected Eurocrats in Brussels.

Not having to have decisions forced on us by other countries.

We will be able to set our own tax rates (Osborne had to go cap in hand to the EU to reduce the VAT on ‘tampons and sanitary towels’).

We will be able to support ‘British’ companies in trouble.

We will be able to take back control of our ‘seas’ and support our loyal and hardworking fishermen who have been ‘stitched up’ by previous governments. We will not have to contribute to the EU foreign aid budget (we already pay into our own bloated, poorly managed foreign aid fund — £12billion and rising).

No more paying for the move of the European Parliament —10,000 people in all — from Brussels to Strasbourg, where it sits for just four days — cost estimated at £130 million a year (all to appease the French). And lastly, we will have our own blue passports again with ‘UK Passport Holder’ lanes at airports.

Let me also remind people that there is a clue in our country’s title that will embolden us in our new venture and that is the word ‘Great’ Britain. For once again we will be at the forefront of world leadership, not a follower of a band of rich globalists.
