REFERENCE the letter from Michael Wood of Dronfield, Derbyshire, published in the Andover Advertiser July 13.

So, Mr Woods is of the opinion that ‘a churchyard is nothing to do with memorials’.

Not so, Mr Woods — churchyards are full of memorials — they are also known as grave stones!

And, Mr Woods, whilst you find it acceptable to desecrate memorials by urinating on them or stacking rubbish around them I am sure the good people of Andover do not!

How would you feel, Mr Woods, if people urinated on the memorial stones to your forebearers?

With family members commemorated on WW1 memorials in Hampshire, Belgium, France and Greece I find your letter most offensive and I trust that in future if any more puerile rubbish comes to mind that you will keep it to yourself !
