WELL done to all the local objectors, councillors and TVBC officers for overturning Aster’s attempt to knock down garages at Venice Court and build more of their ‘affordable homes’. (Advertiser article July 20, ‘Rejection for housing group’).

Instead of causing huge inconvenience to local residents I have a novel solution that would result in a similar number of new homes without inconveniencing any local residents. It is called a pay cut.

According to the 2017 Aster Group report, total payments to the top three (all male executives) was just over £561,000 between them – each earning more than Mrs May.

Shaving off a few bob from the top Aster salaries should provide ample funds for a new housing scheme.
